2017 BAFT Financial Crime Compliance Workshop – 11 April, London

The ITFA Board is delighted to inform you that it has managed to obtain discounted prices for ITFA members to attend BAFT’s Financial Crime Compliance Workshop, which will take place on Tuesday 11th April at Barclays, London, UK. This event is an all-day deeper dive training covering important regulatory requirements and developments in combatting financial crime, with emphasis on governance and accountability. 

We are pleased to announce that the 2 passes available to ITFA members are available at a discounted price of $300 each (instead of $600), while all other registrations will be available to ITFA members at a discounted price of $400. This workshop is led by an anti-money laundering expert, Alma Angotti, who has held senior enforcement positions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).

Learning Objectives:

• Bankers and compliance personnel will understand the regulatory requirements regarding customer identification and due diligence, the responsibility of the “first line of defense” to identify and mitigate customer risk, and recent regulatory developments.
• Describe current international standards (FATF) and supervisory expectations (BCBS) for correspondent banking and how correspondents and respondents can meet those expectations in an efficient and cost effective way.
• Explain recent regulatory developments in governance and optimization of transaction monitoring systems for both AML/CFT and sanctions compliance.
• Learn the evolution of economic sanctions programs, which have become more complex over time, and offer strategies to protect against inadvertent and deliberate evasions of sanctions regime requirements.
