News of the ITFA GRC on the annual workshop and ITFA networking dinner

This year’s workshop for senior forfaiters took place in Frankfurt am Main on October 29, 2013. This year’s host was Barclays Bank plc, followed by an invitation of the ITFA to a networking dinner for all participants of the workshop. As in previous years the workshop, reserved for ITFA members only, held in German, was very well attended. We were also very pleased to have Paolo Provera with us again, whose German is excellent.

Amongst others, this year the topics of the discussion dealt with:

• issues resulting from the refinancing of Euler Hermes covered supplier credits on a discount without recourse basis;
• documentary issues related to traditional forfaiting;
• KYC with regard to secondary market transactions;
• legal opinions;
• questions relating to various paragraphs of the BAFT MRPA;
• Pro and con for a beginner’s seminar on the subject of trade finance/ forfaiting – in German-.

The lively discussions continued during dinner, in the very relaxed atmosphere of the “Neue Volkswirt”, with good food, beer and vine.

We already look forward to next year’s workshop which will probably take place at the end of November 2014 and which again will be combined
with a ITFA GRC Christmas dinner.
