ITFA – Introducing the Conference Speakers in Dubai – David Neckar

The ITFA Board is delighted to introduce David Neckar as one of the speakers at the 42nd Annual Trade and Forfaiting Conference.  David is the Product Development Director for Willis Financial Solutions, which is the global business division of the Willis group, led from London, specialising in political and credit risks, with dedicated teams in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Sao Paolo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Melbourne. His responsibilities include strategic development, Basel III issues, and managing relationships with key clients and export credit agencies.

At the ITFA Conference, David will be addressing Credit Risk Insurance. He will be discussing what credit risk insurance is, what it can do for your business, and how the industry is working to overcome problems of implementation, in particular in the Middle East. He will aim to cover a range of topics which will shed light on the specialist area of credit risk insurance (CRI) for banks, dealing with the questions typically asked by bankers and trade financiers:

“What type of transactions does CRI cover?’
“What does it actually do and who provides it?”
“How widely is it used and by whom?”
“What is the regulatory position in the Middle East?”
“What are the key impediments to establishing CRI business in the Middle East?”
“How can they be addressed and what are the likely future developments in the region?”

David Neckar has over thirty years of specialist financial risk experience which includes senior positions in both underwriting and broking (including reinsurance as well as direct insurance). His early career was spent in the Lloyd’s insurance market, as a lead underwriter of political risk, pioneering expropriation and contract frustration coverage. This was followed by senior underwriting and management positions in the Euler Hermes Group and the Royal & Sun Alliance Group.

David has a degree from Oxford University, and an MBA from INSEAD. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
