News from the Board
Further to our recent Board meeting held in Amsterdam on the 6th of April, we would like to inform all ITFA members on the following:
- Our Annual Conference this year will be in Vienna from 7th to 9th September in the Savoyen Hotel. A very full and interesting programme will include presentations on the new Uniform Rules for Forfaiting, a UCP for the Forfaiting market on which we are working jointly with the ICC , Basel III and MRPAs in the trade finance market. Over 200 participants are expected.
- ITFA, together with BAFT- IFSA and ICC has recently constituted a committee named ITEC which will work with those organizations to produce a set of “Trade Definitions” to be addressed to the Basel Committee to assist it in concluding that trade is indeed safer and should benefit from better capital treatment.
- Since we haven’t been able to organize an Educational Seminar in Amsterdam last week as we wished, our Board decided that the ITFA must come back to Amsterdam and I am pleased to announce that during June, 2011 we will finally hold this seminar in the city; you will be informed in due course and we hope that many of you and your colleagues may attend.
These are only some of the opportunities that ITFA propose to its members and I am sure that you will all benefit from these and more.
